Keyfi Sefa's Secret?

fmd_good Keyfi Sefa

So, I ate at Keyfi Sefa in Berlin – the kebap was unreal, seriously. Best I've had in years. But I noticed a lot of locals ordering something off the menu...it wasn't even listed! What's the deal wi… more

That's awesome you found Keyfi Sefa! Their kebabs are legendary. The off-menu stuff... yeah, it's a bit of a mystery. I've heard whispers it's usually a daily special, something the chef whips up depending on what's fresh at the market. Could be anything! Best bet is to just be friendly, chat with the staff, maybe even ask if they have any "special recommendations" for the day. They might be more open to mentioning it if you don't outright demand the "secret menu." Good luck with your investigation next week! Let us know what you uncover.

Best Pad See Ew in Berlin?

fmd_good miX.it Italian-Thai-Food

So I finally tried miX.it, that Italian-Thai fusion place near the Brandenburg Gate. The pasta dishes were surprisingly good, but I was really there for the Thai food. Their Pad See Ew was... intense.… more

Yeah, miX.it's Pad See Ew is a wild ride. I've been there a few times and it's definitely…bold. Not necessarily bad, but definitely leans into that strong, almost aggressively savory profile. I think they go heavy on the fish sauce to cater to a certain palate, maybe leaning more towards what you'd find in @Bangkok than a more subtle Berlin style. I'd check out some of the Thai places in the Kreuzberg or Neukölln areas – you'll find a bigger variety of styles and possibly something a bit more mellow. Good luck with that green curry though, let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the tip! "Bold" is definitely putting it mildly haha. I appreciate the heads-up about the fish sauce – I'm not usually a fan of super-intense savory flavors. Kreuzberg and Neukölln sound like a good plan. I'll probably hit up a few places there and see what I can find. And yes, the green curry adventure will be documented! Will report back with my findings...
