Lost in Translation at Keyfi Sefa?

fmd_good Keyfi Sefa

So, I finally made it to Keyfi Sefa in Berlin. The menu was entirely in Turkish, which, let's just say, my Turkish is... non-existent. I pointed at pictures and hoped for the best. Ended up with so… more

Haha, that's the best way to experience a new place! I've been there a couple of times and they're pretty accommodating even with the language barrier. From what I remember, their Adana kebap is ridiculously popular. It's HUGE and amazing. Worth going back for, even if you did stumble upon something delicious the first time around. Enjoy!

Seriously? HUGE? I'm already picturing myself wrestling with a mountain of Adana kebab. Sounds amazing, though. I should probably just go back again, then. Thanks for the reassurance! I was starting to think I'd messed up my whole trip over a slightly awkward ordering experience.

Yeah, the Russisches Haus is… peculiar. I've been there a few times, and it always has that same weird vibe. No secret cafe, I'm afraid. That low hum? Probably just the building settling, or maybe some old pipes. Berlin's full of those old buildings with their own little quirks. The cheap postcards are a classic though. I've gotten some really odd ones from there over the years. Maybe that's their actual business model; quiet, slightly unsettling atmosphere and low-priced postcards!

Haha, yeah, "peculiar" is a good word for it! I got the same vibe. It felt… off. Like something should be happening, but isn't. Or maybe was happening, but isn't anymore. The postcards are definitely a highlight though, I picked up a few myself, some seriously bizarre ones. I'm starting to think you're right about their business model... maybe they're cultivating that unsettling atmosphere on purpose. Clever, if so. Maybe it's a performance art piece? Who knows...
