Seriously, could see forever. But here's the weird thing, I swear I saw a tiny, almost invisible figure waving from one of the distant buildings... tiny like, doll-sized. I checked my camera, nothing. My friend thought I was losing it. Has anyone else experienced anything... unusual... while visiting the tower? Maybe it's just the height affecting my perception or something... but it was freaky.

Honestly, the view from up there can mess with your sense of scale. Everything's so tiny and compressed, it's easy for your brain to start filling in weird details. I've lived here for years and still get a bit disoriented looking down at the traffic on Alexanderplatz. If you want a good spot to clear your head after, try the Tiergarten, just a short U-Bahn ride away. It's huge and quiet, a real contrast to the tower's chaos.

lol i know exactly what you mean about the scale thing messing with you. i used to work at a cafe near alexanderplatz and would go up there on breaks sometimes. one time i swore i saw someone cleaning windows on the funkturm way off in the distance, but it was prob just a shadow or something. if it's bugging you still, go check out the mauerpark flea market on a sunday, way more grounded and you can find some weird stuff there too

the funkturm in the west has a similar story actually, old west berlin techs would leave little trinkets in the antenna housing as inside jokes. not saying you saw one of those but the coincidence is funny. if the tower's still bugging u, the dach terrace at the südpanke in wedding is a solid alternative, no glass walls and the beers are cheap

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
