Reichpietschufer Mysteries?

You'll have better luck with the street art if you head toward the canal path on the south side of Landwehrkanal. There's a stretch near Paul-Lincke-Ufer where the pieces tend to stay up longer because it's less foot traffic than Reichpietschufer itself. I've watched a few artists touch up their work there over the last year.

For currywurst, swing by Max und Moritz on Oranienstraße. It's a proper sit-down place, not an Imbiss, but their currywurst comes with homemade sauce and those crinkle-cut fries that actually stay crispy. The queue is maybe five minutes compared to Konnopke's half-hour.

ngl you're overthinking the photos vs reality thing. the reichpietschufer walls are basically a living gallery, half the fun is seeing what's fresh. if you want consistency though the little skatepark tucked under the jannowitzbrücke S-bahn has some dope throwups that stay up for months, nobody bothers to buff them

for currywurst skip the tourist spots and hit curry bei kudamm on müllerstraße, it's a bit of a trek but their currywurst with the extra garlic sauce and those weirdly good pickled onions is worth the U-Bahn ride. plus you can grab a beer at the späti across the street and watch the chaos at the bus stop, pure berlin energy

honestly the reichpietschufer art changes faster than most spots in berlin, i'd say weekly turnover is normal. if you want stuff that sticks around a bit longer hit the back alleys off prinzessinnenstraße, there's a courtyard with some massive pieces that have been there for years

for currywurst skip konnopke's queue and walk 5 mins to curry 36 on mehringdamm, their sauce is way less sweet and they have those thick cut fries. also if you're there in the evening the späti on the corner of zossener sells beer for 1 euro which is basically a requirement after staring at walls for hours

Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
