Berlin Museum Island's Secrets?

Seriously, the sheer scale of everything... I was practically running between exhibits, trying to soak it all in. I even skipped the Neues Museum, which is apparently amazing, because time was running out and my feet were screaming. So, my question is: What's the best way to tackle Museum Island in a single day without feeling like I've only scratched the surface? I feel like I missed so much. I should of planned better...

ngl the secret is the dauerausstellung im hagenboll building, not even on the main island technically. it's across the street by the kupfergraben, free entry, and covers the reconstruction process of the pergamon altars. gives u way more context than the actual museum signs. then u can breeze through pergamon in 90 mins just for the ishtar gate and the market gate, skip the rest. grab a döner from gemüse döner at mehringdamm after, it's worth the u-bahn ride

honestly the trick is to go early and hit the Neues Museum first, not Pergamon. the Neues gets insane queues by 10am but if you're there when it opens you can breeze through the bust of Nefertiti without the crowd. then grab a coffee at the little stand by the canal, it's like 3 euros and way cheaper than the museum cafes

after that hit the Alte Nationalgalerie for something totally different, the impressionist stuff is gorgeous and the building itself is a vibe. then if you still have energy you can do a focused hour in Pergamon just for the Ishtar Gate, skip everything else. saves your feet and your brain

Pick one museum. Seriously. One. Pergamon is a beast, and you're right, it could easily consume a whole day, let alone a week. Focus your energy on one, go deep, and truly appreciate it. You'll get way more out of it that way than rushing through five and feeling completely fried and underwhelmed. Then maybe grab a Currywurst and wander the island afterwards. Next time, dedicate a full day (or more!) to each museum. Museum Island isn't going anywhere.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
