Finding a decent Currywurst near Lobeckstraße?

Thing is, I know the stadium itself will be great, but I'm worried about finding good, authentic food nearby. Every guide seems to focus on the tourist traps. So, my question is: where do the locals grab a quick and tasty Currywurst before or after a game at Lobeckstraße? I don't want to end up with some tourist-priced, lukewarm disappointment... I want the real deal!

If you're at Lobeckstraße, you're not far from Hermannplatz. Head to the corner of Weserstraße and Pannierstraße, there's a small spot called Max und Moritz that does a solid Currywurst with a noticeably spicier sauce than most places. It's about a ten minute walk east, and you'll see plenty of locals grabbing one before heading to a game at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei if they're Union fans. The portion is generous for around 3.50 euros and they're fast, so you won't miss kickoff.

Konnopke's Imbiss. It's a bit of a trek, but it's worth it. Seriously, the best Currywurst in Berlin, hands down. Forget the tourist traps near the stadium; this place is the real deal. You'll probably see more locals than tourists, which is always a good sign. Just be prepared to queue, it's popular for a reason.

Wow, thanks! Konnopke's Imbiss, huh? A trek, you say? I'm not exactly afraid of a bit of a walk, though, good food is worth the effort. Especially if it's the best Currywurst in Berlin. The tourist traps near the stadium sound exactly like what I wanted to avoid. Queueing doesn't bother me either; a good line usually means a good meal. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks again for the recommendation!

the real move is to head to markthalle neun a few stops away on the u8. eisenbahnstraße has a stall called der dicke fritz that does a proper bratwurst with curry sauce, not the standard boiled thing. it's about 4 euros and they'll slice it up fresh for you. the hall itself is way more chill than the tourist spots and you can grab a beer from the craft stall next door while you wait

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
