Tiergarten's Secret Paths?

I've seen pictures, it's gorgeous, but I'm wondering, are there any really hidden, less-trafficked paths or trails that locals know about? Something beyond the main walkways. I'm hoping for a quiet, reflective stroll away from the usual crowds. I'm imagining a hidden pond, maybe some interesting wildlife... you know, that kind of thing. I'm already picturing myself sprawled out on a secluded bench, completely zen'd out. Anyone got any tips? I don't wanna just follow the usual touristy routes. I want the real Tiergarten experience.

honestly the real hidden gem in tiergarten is the little english garden area near the luiseninsel. it's a small island with a pond that most people walk right past cause it's tucked behind some bushes. there's a tiny bridge and benches that are almost always empty on weekday afternoons. you'll see herons and sometimes muskrats if you're quiet. just follow the path along the landwehrkanal edge and cut in when you see the overgrown hedges.

The Luiseninsel tip is good, but if you want even quieter, head to the far northeastern corner near the Tiergarten S-Bahn station. There's a loop path around the Neuer See that most people skip because they stick to the main lake promenade. It's a smaller, reedier pond with a wooden jetty that gets almost no foot traffic. I've sat there for an hour and seen maybe two joggers pass by. You'll hear the birds more than the city.

You want the real Tiergarten, skip the main lawns and head to the area around the Kleiner Tiergarten, which is actually a separate little wedge near the Tiergarten S-Bahn. There's a narrow dirt path that runs along the edge of the Spreekanal, just south of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. It's completely unmarked and most people don't even notice it because it's hidden by overgrown bushes. I've walked it a dozen times and never seen another person there. You'll end up at a tiny, forgotten stone jetty that looks straight across the water at the back of the embassy buildings. It's not a pond, but the water is still and the reflections are perfect for zoning out. Bring a jacket, the wind off the canal can be sharp even on a sunny day.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
