Let's just say my taste buds did a tango. Seriously, though, that much basil? Anyone else try this culinary rollercoaster? What's the deal with the portion sizes? I swear the main course could feed a small family...and they're not even that big portions, it's just that tasty!!

The basil in that dish is no joke. I think they use Thai holy basil, which has a much stronger punch than the sweet stuff you get at the supermarket. If you want something a bit more balanced, their Massaman curry is the move, it's rich and not nearly as aggressive. Portion sizes are definitely generous, I usually split an appetizer and a main with a friend and we leave stuffed.

honestly the basil thing is intentional, they grow their own holy basil in a little greenhouse out back near the service entrance, i saw it once when i was waiting for my takeaway. if you want a totally different vibe there, their lunch menu during the week is way less chaotic and the portions are actually smaller, like normal human sized. the fried calamari with that chili jam is prob the safest bet for first timers who dont want the full fusion experience.

yeah the basil bomb is intentional, they use holy basil like someone else said. i actually dig it but i get why it's polarizing. their crispy duck salad is my go-to, it's way more chill and the tamarind dressing cuts through the richness. portion sizes are wild though, i swear the appetizers alone could be a full meal, especially if you're sitting at the bar by the open kitchen where you can watch them work

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
