Ibis Budget Alexanderplatz Shower Pressure?

Like, barely a drizzle. I'm a big guy, and it took forever to rinse all the shampoo out of my hair. Seriously considering writing a strongly worded letter to management. I mean, you expect a certain level of functionality, especially when you're paying for something, even if it is a budget hotel. Anyone else experienced this anemic shower pressure at the Ibis Budget Berlin Alexanderplatz? Is this a known issue or was I just unlucky?

I've stayed at that Ibis Budget a few times over the years. The pressure on the third floor was fine but the fifth floor was a total letdown, so it might depend which room you get. If you go back, ask for a room on a lower floor, the water pressure tends to be better there. Also, the one near Hauptbahnhof has the same issue, so it's not just Alexanderplatz.

the ibis budget alexanderplatz is a mixed bag for sure, i've stayed there twice and the second time the pressure was fine on the 4th floor. maybe it's a floor thing like someone said, or maybe they swapped out some shower heads recently. if you're still in town, the hotel garni on Mollstraße is a few blocks away and has solid pressure for the same price, just booked it once and was surprised

honestly, if you're still in Berlin and wanna avoid that again, the Motel One on Spandauer Damm has way better water pressure for like 20 euros more a night. the one near Hackescher Markt is solid too but books out fast

the ibis budget is basically a hostel with a private bathroom, so the weak shower is kind of their thing. i've heard the one on Mehringdamm is slightly better but still not great

if you do write that letter, aim for the german customer service email, they're actually pretty responsive compared to the front desk staff who prob deal with that complaint daily

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
