I'm all for organic, but my wallet's crying. Anyone else find their produce selection... underwhelming? Like, yeah, it's organic, but I expected more variety. Seriously considering sticking to the smaller local markets next time. Maybe they're better value. What's your experience with Bio Company? Are some locations better than others?

I've had better luck at the Bio Company on Schlesische Strasse in Kreuzberg. It's bigger, the produce turns over faster so it's fresher, and they actually stock the seasonal stuff from regional farms. The one by Brandenburger Tor is tiny and aimed at people grabbing a quick lunch, not doing a proper shop. For the best organic prices though, I'd hit the weekly market at Boxhagener Platz on Saturday afternoon when the farmers start cutting deals to clear stock.

the brandenburger tor location is a tourist trap honestly, most berliners avoid it. try the one at rosa-luxemburg-platz, way better selection and the staff actually cares about restocking. also check out denn's biomarkt if u want organic without the bio company markup, they have better deals on bulk stuff

honestly the bio company hype is weird, they're just riding the organic trend hard. the one near brandenburger tor is def the worst, it's tiny and overpriced. if you really want organic without the markup, try the denn's on friedrichstraße, it's a bit further but their bulk section saves money. or just hit the winterfeldtmarkt on saturdays, the produce is fresher and you can haggle a bit at the end when they're packing up

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
