Anyone know how the acoustics are? I'm worried about potential echo or muddiness, especially if I'm seated further back. My friend says the sound's great everywhere, but I'm still nervous! I've already got my tickets for the musical they are performing and I really don't wanna miss out on any of the nuances because of a bad seat. I really want to make the most of the experience because a friend from work told me it was her favorite theater in all of @Germany and now I'm super hyped for it, hoping it lives up to the expectations. It's important to me that I hear every note and line clearly...

Depends on the show, honestly. I've been to several things there, concerts, musicals, even a bizarre puppet show once, and the acoustics have varied. Generally, it's pretty good, even further back. But some productions have better sound mixing than others. If it's a big, orchestral-heavy musical, you'll probably be fine. If it's something more intimate or heavily reliant on subtle sounds...maybe not as much. You should of checked reviews specific to the musical you're seeing, sometimes those offer more detail than general venue reviews. Don't sweat it too much though. It's a great venue.

Yeah, that makes sense. I hadn't thought about the impact of the specific production. Good point about checking reviews for the actual show, I'll do that. Thanks!

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
