Madame Tussauds: Waxworks Weirdos?

Seri… So I finally went to Madame Tussauds in London. The place was...packed. Absolutely rammed. I spent more time wrestling with selfie-stick wielding tourists than actually appreciating the artistry. Seriously, the queue for the Queen was longer than the actual line for Buckingham Palace! I did manage to get a pretty decent photo with a surprisingly lifelike David Beckham, though. My question is: Are there any secret, less-crowded areas within Madame Tussauds London that the average tourist wouldn't find? I feel like I missed some stuff because of the sheer madness.

ngl the real hidden gem at Madame Tussauds Berlin is the little machine near the exit where you can make your own wax hand for like 15 euros. most tourists don't bother cause they're already heading out but it's pretty fun and you get a weird souvenir. the queue is usually like 2 people max.

huh, the London one is a different beast entirely, way more chaotic than Berlin's. but if you're back in London and want to dodge the crowds, try going on a random Tuesday right when it opens, like 9:30am. the school trips don't roll in until 11 and the tour buses hit around noon. also the little 4D cinema thing they added is usually half empty because people don't realize it's included in the ticket, it's a decent 10 minute break from the madness

You're describing exactly why I avoid the London one. The Berlin branch has the same problem near Brandenburger Tor, it's a tourist magnet. But what most people miss is the small workshop area in the back where they actually show how the figures are made. It's not a secret room, just a glass window into the studio, and it's usually dead quiet because everyone's busy taking selfies with the big names. If you go on a Wednesday morning, you can watch the sculptors working and ask them questions about the process. That part felt more genuine than the main hall.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
