Finding a Spot?

This Parkgarage Schillerpark Center place looks convenient, but parking in big cities is always a nightmare. Anyone know how early I should get there to snag a spot, especially on a weekend? Last time I tried to park near a major attraction in a German city, I ended up circling for an hour... I'm hoping to avoid that this time.

honestly the garage on müllerstrasse is the easy part, the trick is going in from the north side via reinickendorfer and not from müllerstrasse itself. everyone queues on müllerstrasse bc their navi sends them that way, but there's a second ramp entrance round the back that almost nobody uses, saved me like 20 min last sat. also check if hertha is playing at home, when they are the whole area turns into chaos and the garage jacks up event pricing

My angle would be timing around the Schillerpark flea market on Saturdays, which runs roughly 10 to 4 along the northern edge and is the real reason the garage backs up. Skip the garage and try the small lot behind the AEG site off Brunnenstrasse, it's a bit of a walk north but almost never full. On a normal weekend you'll find street spots on Malplaquetstrasse before 9, after that it's genuinely hopeless.

Something nobody's touched on: the Parkgarage has a height limit of 2m and the spaces on the lower deck are tight, so if you're in anything bigger than a Golf you want the upper deck. Also they don't take card at the machine on the way out half the time, so keep coins or use the app. For a weekend I'd show up around 9:30, after that it's a lottery.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
