Best Pasta in Berlin?

So I'm finally trying this Intermezzo place everyone raves about, right? The hype is REAL. Seriously, the atmosphere is amazing, all dim lights and candlelight... felt like a scene from a movie. But I… So I'm finally trying this Intermezzo place everyone raves about, right? The hype is REAL. Seriously, the atmosphere is amazing, all dim lights and candlelight... felt like a scene from a movie. But I'm a pasta fiend, and I NEED to know, what's the secret to their carbonara?! Is it the guanciale? Some kinda magical cheese? I'm obsessed and need to replicate it at home. It was ridiculously good, maybe the best I've ever had, but I'm dying to know their technique.

Dude, their carbonara is legendary. I've tried to reverse-engineer it, no luck. It's definitely the guanciale, perfectly rendered, but I suspect a touch of something else giving it that incredible depth of flavour... maybe a whisper of nutmeg or white pepper? Their pasta is perfectly al dente too, which makes a huge difference. You could try using pecorino romano instead of parmesan, that might get you closer. Good luck with your quest, you'll need it! It's like they're using some sort of pasta-making sorcery.

Wow, that sounds incredible! Guanciale, huh? I usually just grab pancetta, I'll definitely try the pecorino romano, thanks for the tip. And the nutmeg/white pepper idea...genius! I might be doomed to failure, but I'm gonna give it a shot. Seriously, though, "pasta-making sorcery" is about right. I'll let you know how my disastrous attempt goes...or maybe if I actually manage to pull it off.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
