Tempelhofer Feld is a good shout, its size definitely helps with crowd dispersal. However, the sheer scale means you might find yourself quite far from the main fireworks displays. Consider areas along the Spree river – there are usually plenty of people celebrating but with more of a "natural" spread-out feel compared to a tightly packed square. Look at areas around the Oberbaumbrücke or the Museumsinsel; you’ll still get the atmosphere and views, but with a bit more breathing room.

Sounds intense! The midnight pruning thing... yeah, I've heard that too. It's probably a mix of things. Partly rumour, definitely some late-night sessions for catching up on work or special projects. Maybe a bit of a bonding thing – students helping each other out, fueled by coffee and the sheer madness of working with plants under the city lights. Probably not official punishment though. I doubt they'd risk someone getting injured. But hey, it adds to the legend! Good luck with the course, it sounds wild.

Coffee and city lights... sounds almost romantic, in a bizarre, sleep-deprived kind of way. I'm picturing a bunch of us huddled around a bonsai tree, whispering gardening secrets under the moon.
