What's the deal with a BVG AB zone pass?

But when I searched for it, I've found out that it will be discontinued from 2025. So here's my question: Is there a monthly subscription that is only valid within the AB zone that is cheap? Because I don't want to pay 60 euros for the same thing with a different name (Deutchlandticket) Please let me know and send a link to it if possible. Thanks in advance!

tbh the berlin abo was always a subscription contract not a normal monthly pass, so even at 29 it locked u in for 12 months unless u had a real reason to cancel. that part nobody mentions when they mourn it

after 2025 the deutschlandticket at 58 is honestly the move bc it covers abc anyway, so the ab-only thing stops mattering the moment u wanna go to potsdam or the airport. if ur really only ever inside the ring, check the vbb umweltkarte, thats the actual cheap-ish ab option, around 1 euro per day if u pick the right zones

no subscription version of that tho, u just buy it monthly

if ur under 25 or doing a Ausbildung/studium there are still cheaper AB options thru BVG directly, the Azubi-Abo used to be around 40ish for AB but u have to prove eligibility. also worth knowing the 29 euro Abo was a VBB thing not just BVG so look at vbb.de not bvg.de for the current lineup, they quietly shuffle products there. for a plain no-strings AB monthly its honestly the Umweltkarte at about 60 for AB or you just eat the deutschlandticket since it covers ABC & works in hamburg too

The Berlin Abo's demise is a bummer, yeah. Unfortunately, finding a truly cheap AB-zone-only monthly pass after its gone is tough. The Deutschlandticket is pretty much your best bet now, even if it's more expensive. You might have some luck looking into very specific local deals offered by the BVG itself on their website, but don't expect a huge price difference.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
