Buddhism in Berlin (in English)?

Hi everyone, I'm a beginner in buddhism and I'd love to meet people who are practicing together, meditating, etc. Does anyone have any leads? thank you! The Buddhistisches Haus in Berlin-Frohnau is one of the oldest Theravada centers in Europe, and they have regular meditation sittings on Sundays at 11am. It's a bit of a trip on the S-Bahn, but the garden alone is worth the ride. For something more central, the Berlin Buddhist Centre near Rosenthaler Platz offers beginner-friendly drop-in sessions on Wednesday evenings.

fwiw, there's also a pretty cool english language dharma talk series at the Dharmagupta center in Kreuzberg, it's not just meditation but also discussions and lectures on buddhist topics, they usually have it on fridays at 7pm, might be worth checking out if you're looking for something a bit more in depth.

honestly the Berlin Buddhist Centre near Rosenthaler is solid for beginners, their Wednesday drop-ins are pretty chill and no pressure. if you want something more low key, check out the Meditation im Buddhismus group at the Vihara in Neukölln, they do english friendly sittings on Saturday mornings. also the Shambhala center in Mitte has a weekly meditation group that's not super formal, good for meeting people.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
