Where to buy sugar loaf for Feuerzangenbowle?

I could swear I saw some in a store not too long ago, but now that I need one, I can't find it. I've been to several local supermarkets (Rewe, Edeka, fancy Edeka) in my Kiez. Would love it if someone could confirm to me a supermarket (ideally within the ring) where I can find one tomorrow..

If you have a Turkish or Middle Eastern grocery nearby, check there first. They often sell Zuckerhut as "kesme şeker" cones for tea, usually near the tea section, and it's cheaper than the German brands. The one on Sonnenallee in Neukölln had stacks of them last week, though I can't promise they'll still be there tomorrow. Otherwise the Getränkemarkt at Ostkreuz tends to stock them next to the Glühwein, and they open at 8am so you can grab one before your guests arrive.

Honestly the easiest bet is a Getränkemarkt rather than a normal supermarket, they stock Feuerzangenbowle stuff as a set this time of year. There's one near Schönhauser Allee that had Zuckerhut on the shelf last week, cant remember teh exact name though. Also try asking at a Tankstelle, weirdly some of them carry it in December.

The Karstadt at Hermannplatz closed a while back, so don't waste a trip there. If you're near Prenzlauer Berg, the Getränkemarkt on Danziger Str. usually keeps Zuckerhut behind the counter this time of year, you just have to ask since they don't put them on the shelf. Also worth checking the bigger Denns or Alnatura, they sometimes carry the bio version in the baking aisle near the Christmas stuff.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
