Can anyone recommend a hospital with good neurology care? (serious/urgent)

A very good friend of mine has a serious neurological issue and after being hospitalized for 5 days already (place in Wedding) it is only getting worse. For one she has been treated poorly basic needs wise, but for another the medication they've been giving her significantly worsened her state as evident from tests she underwent today. Is anyone here able to recommend a Berlin hospital with a solid neurology ward that she could transfer to? Thanks a lot.

Writing in English as both me and her are foreigners. She does have German health insurance though and we can arrange for someone to translate for her if it comes down to it.

i'd second the call to the krankenkasse first, that's the fastest way to get a verlegung if the current place is dragging their feet. for the actual hospital, st. gertrauden in wilmersdorf has a really solid neurology department that's a bit under the radar, they handle complex med adjustments well and the nursing care is way more attentive than charite's main floor chaos. if you're coming from wedding, take the u6 to alt-tempelhof and then the u7 to fehrbelliner platz, it's about 30 mins door to door and the station staff can point u to the right entrance

charite is definitely the big name but tbh getting a bed there can be a nightmare if you don't have a direct transfer arranged. for something this urgent and specific i'd actually try the neurologie at vivantes humboldtklinikum in reinickendorf. their stroke unit and neuro ward are really solid, less of a zoo than charite mitte, and they're used to dealing with complicated medication reactions. plus it's not as far from wedding as charite is, which matters if you're trekking back and forth.

also if the current hospital is refusing a verlegung you have rights as a patient, you can call the krankenkasse directly and they'll often push for a transfer if the treatment is clearly making things worse. trying to get her seen at the notaufnahme of a new place without a formal transfer might work but she'd prob just be sitting in the waiting room for hours. the krankenkasse can sometimes fast-track that.

Honestly get her to Charite Mitte, the neurology clinic on the first floor at Campus Charite Mitte. It's one of the best in Europe and they handle complex cases like this all the time, especially if meds are making things worse. The station is a bit chaotic but the doctors there actually know their stuff, way better than most of the smaller Bezirkskrankenhäuser. If you can get a Verlegung from the current hospital it's smoother, otherwise just show up at the Notaufnahme and explain it's a medication reaction, they take that seriously.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
