Quiet places to read a book on a comfy chair and drink coffee that are open at night in Moabit?

The Stadtbibliothek Mitte on Breite Straße is worth a look if you can stretch past Moabit a bit, it's open until 20:00 most days but Thursdays they stay open late. Not a cafe though, so you'd need to bring your own thermos, which honestly feels more like a library move anyway. For actual coffee, there's Kaffeehaus am Ufer near the Spree, it's a bit tucked away and closes around 22:00 on Fridays, but the window seats over the water are dead quiet and the chairs are properly worn in. If you're set on Moabit itself, the bar at the Hotel Moabit is your safest bet, but I'd take the U9 ride for the armchairs at St. Oberholz, the coffee is weak but the corner nook near the back shelf never gets busy after 21:00.

honestly moabit is kinda dead at night for cafes, most close by 8 or 9. ur best bet is to hop on the u9 to birkenstrasse and hit st. oberholz near osloer str, theyre open till midnight and the big armchairs by the window are perfect. coffee is meh but the vibe makes up for it. if u want something closer, try the lobby bar at the moabit hotel on turmstrasse, not a cafe but theyll let u sit with a book if u order a drink, quiet af on weeknights.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
