Best recommendation for gym membership in Berlin?

I am a long time practitioner of yoga and also am doing "karmawork" at a yoga studio to get free pass on yoga, so that's already stable. I also bike everywhere, all year round. Then I've, mostly in spring and summer months, been doing hiit training by myself outside and I love it but because winter I do way less exercise and I want to start getting better with my resistance training. But I find myself getting a bit overwhelmed with the different options for gym memberships. I don't have a lot of income at the moment and also am not entirely sure how long I will stay in Berlin, so I'm looking for affordable and flexible gym membership! Any recommendations? 🙏

Given your yoga background and biking, you might actually like Urban Sports Club. It's not a single gym but a membership that gets you into different studios and gyms across Berlin, including places with resistance training and even some HIIT classes. The basic S tier is around 25 euros a month and you can cancel monthly, which is perfect if you're not sure how long you'll stay. The downside is some popular locations have limited slots during peak times, but you can usually find a spot at less busy ones in Neukolln or Wedding.

honestly? just get a fitx membership. it's like 20€ a month, no long-term contract if you go month to month, and there's one every few blocks in berlin. they have basic weight machines and a small free weight area, enough for resistance training without the bells and whistles. you can pause it super easy if you leave town or cancel with a month's notice. the one at hermannplatz is usually less packed than the alexanderplatz one if that matters

if you're already doing yoga and biking everywhere i'd honestly check out mcfit or clever fit over fitx, they sometimes have better monthly deals without the lock-in. mcfit has a prepaid option that's like 30€ for 30 days and you can just stop whenever, no notice needed. just make sure you're not near the touristy ones in mitte, they get packed

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
