I'd try Dr. Notebook on Torstrasse near U Rosenthaler Platz. They're open Saturdays from 10 to 3 and actually specialize in liquid damage, not just software issues. The guy who runs it used to work at IBM's repair center so he knows his way around corroded components. Just expect to pay around 50-80 euros for the diagnostic if they need to open it up, that's pretty standard for water damage work in Mitte.

honestly for a saturday your best bet is probably Notebookservice Berlin near U Eberswalder Str. they're open till 2pm on saturdays and actually do component-level repair, not just swap the whole mainboard. had a friend take a coffee-damaged thinkpad there and they saved the data without charging an arm and a leg. just call ahead first to make sure they're not swamped, they get pretty busy on weekends

if it boots it's probably not totally fried which is good. check out reparierbar in friedrichshain near boxhagener platz, they do walk-in diagnostics on saturdays till 3pm. they're more of a community repair spot so they'll actually explain what's wrong instead of just handing u a bill. just bring the charger and any passwords u can remember, they'll want to test it in front of u

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
