Should I take a delivery driver job offer if I haven't driven in Berlin before?

I moved to Berlin about 2 months from a country that drives on the other side of the road.

I haven't driven in Berlin yet, though I did drive in another country that drives on the right last year... for maybe 1 hour at most.

I can legally drive. My license from my home country is valid to use here and is the equivalent of a class B license.

Honestly I don't really want the job. The pay isn't great, but I'm getting pretty desperate for work at this point and they offered for me to come in for training.

How bad of an idea is this? Should I just hire a car and drive around for a while before I go for this training to get the hang of it?

honestly the training is fine, they'll put u in a van with a sign and other drivers just avoid you. the real issue isn't even the driving, it's finding parking for deliveries in places like neukölln or mitte where loading zones are always taken by some smart car. i'd say take the training and use it to figure out if u can handle the stress of double parking while a bvg bus is trying to squeeze past, that's the real test

ngl driving in berlin is a different beast even for people who've done it elsewhere. the bike lanes and tram tracks will mess you up more than the side of the road, plus some intersections have like 5 different lights to watch. i'd say skip the rental and just take the training, they probably expect you to be slow and they'll have a car with stickers on it so other drivers give u space. worst case you bail after day one if it's actually terrifying, no harm done

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
