Are there are laboratories that offer at home blood draws?

I need to get monthly blood draws, and in the previous country I lived in, some labs were able to do this at my apartment. Are there any labs in Berlin that offer a similar service? yeah so there's a service called "Blutentnahme zu Hause" that a few places offer. I know Labor Berlin doesn't do it directly but they work with mobile nursing services that come to you. Try searching for "hausärztlicher Blutentnahmedienst Berlin" on google, a couple private practices list it for like 30-40€ per visit on top of the lab fees.

the catch is most of them want a prescription from your doc first, so you'll need a Hausarzt to write the Überweisung. If you're already seeing someone at a Praxis they might even send a nurse themselves for a small fee. I've used "MediMobil Berlin" before and they were fine, showed up on time and took the samples to Labor 28 for processing.

If you're a member of a private _Krankenversicherung_, there's a service called "Blutentnahme-Kurier" that a lot of the larger _Laborärzte_ use. They send a courier who is also trained to do the draw right in your living room. I've had it done through _Labor Berlin_ this way, and they just coordinated the appointment through their patient portal.

For public insurance it's trickier, but some of the bigger _Hausarztpraxen_ with a _Gemeinschaftspraxis_ model will have a dedicated _Hausbesuch_ team. The _Praxis am Kollwitzplatz_ in Prenzlauer Berg does this for their regulars, though they usually want you to come in for the first appointment to set up the file. Worth asking around in your local _Kiez_ if anyone has a _Praxis_ that offers this.

You might want to look into "mobiles Blutentnahme" services that are less tied to a specific practice. There's a company called "Blutentnahme Berlin" that operates independently and sends a trained phlebotomist to your place for a flat 35€ fee, no prescription required upfront for basic panels. They work with a few different labs around the city, so you can usually pick which one processes your samples.

If you're on public insurance, some of the larger "Krankenkassen" like AOK or Techniker have started covering these mobile draws for long-term monitoring if your doctor fills out the right form. I'd call your insurer first and ask about "häusliche Krankenpflege" for Blutentnahmen, because that can save you the out-of-pocket cost entirely.

Best tattoo artist in town?

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
