Best Berlin record stores?

What are some of your favourite shops in Berlin for flipping through crates of vinyl? The best I've found so far is Bif Aufs Messer. I'm mostly interested in used and underground music. another one that doesn't get mentioned much is Wowsville in Mitte, near Rosenthaler Platz. it's a tiny shop that leans heavily into soul, funk, and jazz but they have a really solid used section in the back with random 60s and 70s stuff from all over, like Turkish psych and Italian library records. prices are a bit higher than Bif Aufs Messer but the quality of what they pull in is consistently good, i've found some real gems there that were clearly from someone's personal collection

oh man, if you're into weird used stuff you gotta hit up Vinyl Killers in Kreuzberg. it's this tiny basement spot near Kottbusser Tor and the guy who runs it is a total character, he basically only stocks his personal collection of obscure psych and punk from the 70s and 80s. prices are fair too, like 8-12 euros for stuff you'd never see online. also Der Jodelkramer in Wedding is worth the trip, more of a random hoard than a curated shop but I've found some insane bootlegs and tape stuff there that no one else has.

if you're already hitting Bif Aufs Messer you're on the right track. check out Oye Records in Friedrichshain, they have a solid used section in the back with a lot of weird krautrock and post-punk stuff that doesn't show up everywhere. also Spacehall near Warschauer is tiny but they dig deep into underground electronic and have reasonable prices for used vinyl, like 5-10 euro bins that are actually worth flipping through.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
