What is your go-to nature spot around berlin?

I'm looking for a peaceful nature spot, somewhere within about an hour's travel from Hbf. Ideally, a quiet place to relax, enjoy some fresh air.

Does anyone have a favorite spot they'd recommend?

honestly just take the s1 to wannsee and walk down to the little strandbad. there's a sandy bit that's free and usually pretty empty even on weekends, not the main beach area. you can bring a blanket and just lay there watching the boats go by, it's a solid 45 mins from hbf and feels completely out of the city

teufelssee in grunewald is underrated. quiet, no crowds, and you can walk around the lake or just sit on a bench and stare at the water. about 25 min from hbf on the s-bahn.

if u want something a bit different, take the RE1 to kopenick and then a bus to the mueggelsee. big lake with a proper walking path around it, takes like 2 hours to loop. the east side is way quieter than the main beach area, just find a spot in the grass near the water. about 50 min door to door from hbf

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
