Am I doing this wrong or the housing situation is that bad?

Up to this point I lived for 8 months in overpriced WG which I found from my country and for the moment I live in a studio apartment found through a rental company that only offers 1 year contracts.

Considering the housing situation I decided to start the search of the new place three months ago. I use only Immoscout premium and I get the offers by using a telegram bot which shows them in real time of them being posted. I mention this to give context on the fact that my message and profile must be at the top of their inbox.

However, in these 3 months after a lot of applications I have been only in 2 apartment viewings and wanted to get your opinion if maybe my introduction message is wrong or if the situation is that bad. In my message, I introduce myself, profession, age and hobbies. I emphasize that I dont smoke or have pets and express my likness for the place and willingess for an apartment viewing. All necessary documents are part of the immoscout premium profile.

Considering that I am not getting any apartment viewing, I am thinking that I might need to change my message. I understand that is a numbers game and some luck is involved, however to get only two viewings in 3 months is discouraging.

I would really appreciate any advice on this situation. Thank you in advance.

Edit: More information on me and what I am looking for, budget and salary.

White male, late 20s with an European name since somebody comented that part. I send the message in German.

I am looking for a studio apartment wherever it may be with at least 25 m2 and a maximum warm price of 1000 euro. My salary fit (1/3) criteria for the 1k euro per month that is required from most of the owners or conpanies.

At the moment I am paying 900 euro warm for 36m2 fully furnished apartment in a great location.

ngl your message structure is fine it's the 1000 euro warm ceiling that's killing you. that's basically the magic number where everyone's budget tops out so you're fighting the biggest crowd.

one thing i'd try is filtering for "neubau" or recently built buildings. they're usually a bit more expensive per sqm but way fewer applicants because people assume they can't afford them. i've seen 32sqm neubau studios in Wedding for 950 warm that sat on Immoscout for 2 days instead of 2 hours.

also check if your SCHUFA score is visible in your profile. some landlords auto-filter based on that and if yours isn't listed they might skip you. you can pull it for free once a year from their website, just upload the PDF to your documents.

The 1000 euro warm budget is the main bottleneck, not your message. That price point puts you in direct competition with hundreds of other applicants for every single listing under 40sqm in the ring. I'd consider bumping up to 1100 or 1200 if you can swing it, that alone cuts the competition noticeably.

For the message itself, ditch the hobbies and age. Landlords here care about income stability and tenure, not that you like climbing. Lead with your job title, the company name if it's recognizable, and how long you've been working there. Keep it to three lines max.

You might also try a different Telegram bot or set up a direct ImmoScout alert with "Sofort kontaktieren" listings only. Those are landlords who want to move fast and often skip the viewing altogether if your documents are solid.

honestly the market is just that brutal right now. 1000 euro warm for a solo apartment is getting squeezed hard by students and couples too. maybe try expanding to a WG again or look at places a bit further out like Spandau or Marzahn.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
