Hey.

Wondering if y'all have any info on if there are any alternatives to the three official drug checking facilities that are listed on drugchecking.berlin.

The reason I'm asking is because these apparently take a few days, but also way more importantly they apparently only accept around 10 samples a day, which is an insanely low number. Some report always getting a spot if you go at least half an hour before they open, but still very much depends on how lucky you get.

Are there any non-official alternatives to have you drugs tested (doesn't have to be potency tests, could just be adulterant/contamination tests)?

yeah the official spots are a pain with the sample limits. there's no real "underground" alternative that does the same thing publicly, but if you're just worried about cuts like fentanyl or xylazine, some of the Fixpunkt outreach vans carry test strips and will do it on the spot for free. they're usually around Kottbusser Tor or Warschauer in the evenings.

if you want something more thorough, some harm reduction orgs like Vista or Schwulenberatung have drop-in hours where they can test with reagent kits right there. not as detailed as the lab stuff but you'll know if there's a dangerous cut within minutes. the official places are the only ones who'll tell you exact purity though

another thing - the Sonnenallee area cafes sometimes have leftover test strips from street outreach if you ask quietly. just be polite and don't make it weird

Fixpunkt's mobile teams are probably your best bet for quick strip tests, they rotate through different kiez each night. the schedule is on their website but they're often at Görli or Boxi around 10pm

if you're near Neukölln, the drug counseling spot at Karl-Marx-Straße 198 does reagent testing during their open hours without an appointment. it's a small room in the back, they'll test for the common cuts like levamisole or caffeine but won't tell you dosage

some people in the techno scene will test a bit of your stuff at parties if you ask the right person, usually the folks running the chill-out or awareness team. not reliable but worth knowing

honestly there's a telegram group called "berlin drug checking" where people sometimes share leftover test strips and reagent results. not a testing service itself but you can ask around there and someone might hook you up same day if they have extras

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
