Recommendations on painting/apartment fixing services?

I'm moving away from my apartment and my current landlord requested holes to be filled up/the walls painted. Unfortunately I don't have time to do it myself. Any recommendations for a service… I'm moving away from my apartment and my current landlord requested holes to be filled up/the walls painted. Unfortunately I don't have time to do it myself. You'll want a "Renovierungsfirma" or a "Malerbetrieb" for this. I've used Maler Krämer in Neukölln before and they handled the whole thing for about 400 euros for a two-room flat, including filling and painting. Just make sure to get a written quote beforehand and check if they'll also do the final "Abnahme" walkthrough with your landlord so you don't get stuck with extra charges.

yeah i'd try "helpling" or "book-a-tiger" honestly, they have a handyman category and you can book someone for a few hours to do the filling and painting. costs like 35-50 an hour but they show up with their own stuff and it's all insured, which is nice if the landlord's being picky

fwiw check TaskRabbit or MyHammer, there's usually folks on there who do exactly this and can come by pretty quick. just post the job with photos so they know what theyre dealing with, and you'll prob get a few bids within a day

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
