I'm pretty sure everyone here is aware about the housing market crisis here in Berlin. My current contract ends in a few months and I'm getting a bit anxious preparing to face the whole house-hunting problem soon.
There are clearly two extremes at play: Cheap rents prices which are basically impossible to get, and stratosferic prices which make it almost instant for rich people.
I know it's shit for basically everyone, but I'm trying to understand where I stand in this spectrum. How much income (or what rent price) would you say is enough to make it decently possible or easy to find something in 1-3 months? With mine I would probably be looking for something aroud 1100-1200 cold rent.
Extra info: I'm not particular about size or location (<1h commute to berlin center is fine), single, no kids. Not good with german language yet. Stable job.

solid guide. i'd add that the döner scene is more than just mustafa's, even if that one is iconic. head to rüyam gemüse kebap in neukölln, their döner with grilled veggies and feta is around 7 euro and honestly beats the queue at mustafa's for me. the bread is baked fresh right there
for a real hidden gem, check out the breakfast at haus hiltl in mitte. it's a swiss-style spot with incredible homemade bircher muesli and fresh pastries, around 12 euro for a big plate. quiet in the mornings before the lunch rush hits, and the courtyard seating is lovely when it's warm
