the mayday festival on may 1st is the big one, it gets pretty wild around boxhagener platz and frankfurter allee with street parties and flea markets all day. there's also the friedrichshain christmas market at rathaus friedrichshain, it's smaller than the touristy ones but has decent glühwein and a nice ice skating rink. the raw-gelände flea market happens every sunday no matter what, not a holiday thing but it's basically an institution
honestly the karneval der kulturen is more neukölln/kreuzberg but a lot of friedrichshain people just walk down there, it's a huge street parade in late may or early june with all these crazy floats and costumes from different cultures. also the fête de la musique on june 21st is lowkey big here, they set up stages in random courtyards and parks and you can just wander around hearing live music for free until late. the maifest on may 1st is more of a political thing with demonstrations during the day and then parties at night, not really a parade vibe but it's definitely annual
There's the 1. Mai demonstration route that goes along Frankfurter Allee, but if you want something less political, check out the Friedrichshain Kulturfest in late summer. It's at Boxhagener Platz and they close off the streets for food stalls, live bands, and a secondhand book market that's been running for years. The Berliner Fahrradschau in September is also worth a look, it's at the RAW Gelände and has test tracks for e-bikes and old cruisers.
