For solo practice, head to the cages at Tempelhofer Feld, there's always a free goal or wall to shoot against, especially on weekday mornings. If you want consistent games, check out the Bolzplatz at Mauerpark on Sundays around noon, there's a pickup game that's been running for years, very welcoming to non-German speakers. Just show up with dark and light shirts.

honestly just grab a ball and head to Volkspark Friedrichshain, theres a big open field near the top that's usually empty on weekday afternoons. for actual games, check out the pitch at Gleisdreieck park on saturdays around 3, there's a mixed group that plays 5v5 and they dont care if you barely speak german. also theres a facebook group called Berlin Kick und Trinken that posts game meetups in english sometimes

If you want a proper wall to practice against, go to the sports complex at Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark near Prenzlauer Berg. There are two handball walls behind the main stadium that work great for shooting drills, and they're usually empty after 6pm. For regular games without the language barrier, download the app "Urban Sports Club" and filter for football sessions, there are a bunch of English-speaking groups that book pitches through it. The one at Sportplatz Schillerpark on Tuesday evenings is mostly expats and they rotate keepers every goal.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
