What to do as solo traveller between 00 and 06 in Berlin?

Are there any recommendations for bars that are suitable for a solo traveller on a Wednesday night?

oh man that ride sounds like a thing. since ur on a wednesday night and probably wrecked, skip the club scene entirely. hit up "zur letzten instanz" near the alexanderplatz if u want a proper old berlin kneipe vibe, theyre open till like 4 or 5 and it's the kinda place where u can just sit with a kölsch and stare at the wood paneling. not loud, not weird, just steady.

if u need a place to actually stretch out and not sit upright, the "yaam" club on oberbaumstrasse has a courtyard with benches and they do late night food till like 5am, but the crowd is more chill than the main floor. u can park urself near the fire pit if it's lit, n the staff are used to tired travellers. just dont leave ur bike unlocked there, someone once tried to lift mine near the bridge.

for a random 3am snack that's not the usual dürüm, check "brammibal's" on friedrichstrasse, theyre open till 6 and do decent vegan donuts n coffee. yeah it's not a bar but sometimes ur body just wants sugar after 5 days of cycling. plus the wifi is solid if u need to plan ur train stuff.

bike from sweden that's wild. if u wanna just sit and not deal with a packed club, check out kpt on köpenicker strasse, it's a late night bar that's open till like 6am and it's chill enough to grab a corner with ur bike bag. wednesday it'll be mostly regulars and night shift folks, nobody's gonna bother u.

if u want food at like 4am, hit up a späti with a grill, the one on weserstrasse near hermannplatz does solid dürüm and u can stand outside eating while watching the weirdos. that's peak berlin solo energy honestly.

also ur bike, don't leave it outside anywhere sketchy, take it inside if the bar allows or lock it right at the door where u can see it. some places get antsy about frames inside but u can usually ask.

honestly the kpt rec is solid but if u want something even more lowkey, try bar 3 on torstrasse. it's a tiny basement place that stays open till like 5 or 6, wednesday it's dead quiet, perfect for zoning out with a beer after that ride. the bartender usually lets u charge ur phone behind the counter too.

for the 4am hunger thing, skip the späti and head to mustafa's on oranienburger strasse. yeah it's touristy but at 3am it's just drunk people and cab drivers, the gemüse dürüm hits different when ur exhausted. they close at 5 though so don't dawdle.

one thing nobody mentioned: if u really hit a wall, the 24h sauna at vabali in mitte is open all night and u can just crash on a lounge bed for a couple hours. it's like 30 euros but u get a towel and a shower and no one cares if u sleep. way better than sitting in a train station. just bring flip flops or u'll be barefoot on that cold floor.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
