Turkish fans have set off fireworks in front of the Netherlands' team hotel to wake up the Dutch squad (is this legal xd?)

It's not legal, no. Fireworks in Berlin require a permit outside of Silvester, and setting them off at 2am near a hotel in Charlottenburg would definitely get you fined if the police caught you. But honestly, the Polizei has bigger things to deal with during the Euros, so this kind of thing usually just ends up as a noise complaint and a patrol car rolling by too late.

Not legal but good luck getting anyone to care. The hotel is right on Kaiserdamm which already gets plenty of late night traffic noise from the A100. A few firecrackers at 2am is nothing compared to the constant sirens and street racers that run that stretch every weekend. The Dutch squad probably slept through it honestly.

nah not legal but honestly berlin police are way too understaffed to chase down every firework complaint during the euros. the real issue is the hotel is right off kaiserdamm near the messe so it's a busy street anyway, 2am fireworks just blend into the general city noise. if the dutch squad can't sleep through a few bangers they're gonna struggle in berlin period, the u-bahn alone rattles half the hotels around here

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
