What are those sweet (nectarish) smelling trees in Berlin?

Noticed these sweet smelling trees around this time last year and also this year. They smell sweet and are in some areas like Prenzlauer Berg, Seestr. etc. They also shed a lot of nectar kind of droplets (mist) which is sweet and sticky on the cars and streets. Last week I was away from Berlin and didnt get this smell where I was. Couple of days ago, I was driving back to Berlin and the moment I entered Seestraße, the smell of these trees was overwhelming, in a good way. Can someone help identify these trees?

lindens are definitely it, they're basically the official tree of berlin summer honestly. the honeydew situation is real, my car was parked under one on schönhauser allee for two days and it looked like it had been in a car wash with the syrup setting lol. if you want to experience it without the sticky car, take a walk through the volkspark friedrichshain near the water tower around 8pm when it's cooling down, the whole hill smells like a sweet shop for a few weeks

yeah those are linden trees (lime trees in english but not the fruit). theyre all over berlin especially in older neighborhoods like pberg and wedding. the sticky stuff is actually honeydew from aphids that feed on the leaves, not nectar from the tree itself. annoying if u park under one but the smell is worth it imo. btw the flowers make a really nice tea if you pick them when theyre in bloom

Sounds like linden trees, they're pretty common along streets here

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
