What small things make Berliners happy?

When you arrive at the platform and your train is already there, and it moves as soon as you get inside.

The first warm sunny day after a long, cold winter.

When the Pfandautomat accepts all your bottles in one go.

When the restaurant / store doesn't have a minimum amount required for cashless payment.

What else?

When the U-Bahn driver actually hits the gap between the platform and the train perfectly so there's no step down. Also, finding a free table at your preferred cafe on a Saturday afternoon without having to hover over someone's shoulder. And when the Späti guy lets you pay with card for just a beer and a pack of gum, no questions asked.

the u-bahn driver hitting the brakes just right so you don't spill your coffee. that split second of pure bliss. also when your local Rewe finally has Pfandflaschen sorted by size instead of that chaotic free-for-all pile. honestly, getting a table at Mauerpark flea market without having to fight off a dozen tourists with selfie sticks is peak Berlin happiness.

Getting through the Burgeramt in under 45 minutes with all your paperwork accepted feels like winning the lottery. Also, that moment at a late night Imbiss when the guy behind the counter remembers your order and just starts making it as you walk in. And the quiet satisfaction of your weekly Edeka run where nobody blocks the entire aisle with their trolley while staring at mustard.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
