Why O2 signal is always so bad in Berlin?

I'm considering to change to Telekom even though it's much more expensive, however I'm thinking if it makes sense to pay less For a service and not being to table to use it always as I wish. Any thoughts?

It's not just you, O2 has always been the budget option here for a reason. Their spectrum licenses in Berlin are weaker than Telekom's, so even on 5G you'll lose signal in concrete buildings or between stations on the U-Bahn. On the Ring specifically, the U8 between Hermannplatz and Schönleinstraße is a dead zone for O2, while Telekom holds a steady connection there.

If you want to test before committing, grab a Telekom prepaid card from a Rewe or a shop at Alexanderplatz for 10 euros. That way you can ride the U2 from Zoologischer Garten to Alexanderplatz and see if it holds up for calls. The monthly difference is about 15-20 euros for comparable data plans, but if you're on WhatsApp calls twice a day, that's probably worth it.

honestly the o2 thing is a known issue in berlin, they just don't have the same density of antennas in the inner ring or along the ubahn tunnels. telekom is def better but if you're not ready to commit full price, check out fraenk which runs on telekom's network for like 10 euro a month. the catch is data caps are lower but for whatsapp calls it's fine. also worth noting your s22+ might be part of the problem, the modem in those exynos models is notoriously weak on weaker signals compared to qualcomm versions. still, o2's ubahn coverage on the u8 or u9 is borderline unusable during peak hours, telekom is night and day there

yeah o2 is notoriously bad in berlin, especially underground. telekom's coverage on the ubahn lines is noticeably better, like on the u2 or u7 you can actually stream stuff. if you're making frequent whatsapp calls on the ring or in tunnels, the price difference is probably worth it. you could also try a prepaid sim from telekom like congstar or fraenk to test the network before fully switching

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
