Can I get a job contract in a different field after completing my master's degree in Germany? I am a master's student in International business like customer service ,. After master

honestly the degree name matters way less here than people think, especially in berlin. i know someone who did a masters in economics and now works as a barista at a cafe in neukölln, just because they liked the vibe more than corporate stuff. for customer service specifically, a lot of companies just want you to speak good english and be chill with people, your master's is more of a checkbox for the visa office than a real requirement. just make sure you hit the salary floor when you switch to the actual work visa, which is around 45k this year i think

another angle - if you want to stay in customer service long term, look into the "blue card" rules. customer service roles often don't qualify because the salary is too low, but some companies will stretch the title to "client success manager" or "account coordinator" to hit the minimum. i've seen it work at bigger firms near potsdamer platz where HR knows how to play the game. just don't expect a small neukölln startup to do that for you, they don't have the resources

yeah you can totally switch fields, happens all the time here. the key is your work history and any internships you did during the master's, not just the degree title itself. if you want to go into customer service full time, stuff like sales or account management at a tech startup in mitte is pretty open to non-german backgrounds. just make sure your visa conditions allow it, some student visas limit you to jobs related to your field until you get the 18-month job seeker permit after graduation

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
