Where can I find art places, short courses, and life drawing sessions in Berlin?

Could you please recommend any art spaces, institutions, or studios that offer short courses or life drawing sessions? I'm particularly interested in engaging with the local art scene and enhancing my artistic skills during my time in the city. Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!🤍

imo you should check out Malfeld in Neukölln, they do life drawing on Tuesdays it's like 10€ and super chill, no teacher just a model and you bring your own stuff.

For short courses, Berlin Art Institute in Mitte has weekend workshops that are pretty decent, they do everything from figure drawing to printmaking. It's on Auguststraße right near the KW Institute so you can make a day of it.

also if you want something more experimental, look up Cripple Creek in Friedrichshain, they run random life drawing nights with live music sometimes, it's a bit chaotic but fun. prices vary but usually under 15€

honestly you should hit up die Kunstschule on Leibnizstraße in Charlottenburg, they do a weekly open life drawing session on wednesday evenings for like 8€ and it's a proper studio vibe with good lighting. way more intimate than the big places

for a short course try the vhs Berlin Mitte on Linienstraße, they have affordable weekend workshops in painting and drawing that run for like 3 hours each. it's basic but solid, and you'll meet actual berliners not just tourists

also check out the life drawing sessions at Schwules Museum in Kreuzberg, they do queer-focused ones once a month that are super inclusive and the model picks the music. it's 12€ and a really different energy from the standard sessions

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
