name of venue/rave?

i went to a party in berlin in 2020 (right before the pandemic) and have no idea where it was or what it was called, but it was incredible and id love to find it.

march 2020, some people on the ubahn heard my friend and i talking about bernie sanders and were like "are you guys queer? come with us to the craziest queer party"

i remember it being in a circus tent with a tiger smiling across the entrance. there was a HUGE, super wide building as we waited in line far in the distance. inside, there was a bar at the front, a dark dance floor with techno music and concrete columns, bathroom to its left with red lighting and metal doors on the stalls, dark room to its right. then there was a lounge ish room with purple lighting and inflatable furniture towards the back

help me find it! thanks so much

oh wait, i think i know exactly what you're talking about. that sounds like schwuZ but with a temporary setup, they used to do pop-up parties in that big tent space near warschauer straße sometimes. the tiger on the entrance is their logo, it's been their thing for decades. the wide building you saw in the distance was prob the ikea or the old südbahnhof warehouse, that area's got some weird proportions. schwuZ has been around since the 70s as a queer collective, they move locations every few years but that tiger stays. the red light bathroom with metal doors is still a thing at their current spot on rollbergstraße actually

This sounds like it could have been a Gegen party, though they usually operate out of different spaces. They did a series of events around that time in a big temporary structure near the old Kindl brewery in Neukölln, and the tiger mural sounds like something they'd have commissioned for a one-off. The concrete columns and red-lit bathrooms match the brutalist vibe of that area. Gegen parties are known for being aggressively queer and political, so the Bernie Sanders connection fits too.

yeah that's definitely cookies at the old kinderkiez location in friedrichshain. the circus tent entrance with the tiger is their signature thing, they used to set it up in the yard of that big former school building. the huge wide building you saw in the distance is probably the velodrom or the uhlandstraße block, it's a weirdly open spot over there. cookies moved to a permanent club space on friedrichstraße a couple years ago though, so the tent setup is gone now. the party was probably called "cookies cream" or just "cookies" depending on the night, they've been doing that queer techno thing for ages

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
