What jobs are possible to get for an A2/B1 language student?

My visa allows me to work a little, so I was thinking of getting a job to help get more exposure. What are some kinds places that hire people with this level of German knowledge.

if you're decent with tech, look into working at a repair shop or electronics kiosk. places like saturn or media markt sometimes hire for stockroom or basic customer service, and they don't expect perfect german for the back-of-house stuff. i know a guy who worked at a repair shop near hermannplatz with a2 and picked up a ton of vocab just from reading labels and talking to coworkers

another thing that works well is tutoring or babysitting for german families. they're usually just glad you're learning and want their kids to get exposed to english. put a flyer up at your local späti or on the schwarzes brett at your school. you'll hear a lot of everyday german from the parents while the kids practice their english on you

honestly look into hotel housekeeping or front desk at smaller hostels. a lot of them near alexanderplatz or kreuzberg will take a2/b1 because half their guests are international anyway. you'll mostly be checking people in and answering basic questions, and the shifts are flexible around your course schedule. plus you get to hear german all day from the guests who do speak it

another thing is event staffing for concerts or conferences at places like ufo or the tempodrom. they always need temporary help for coat check or crowd direction and don't care about your german level as long as you can say "hier entlang" and "ausgang". it's irregular hours but you can pick up shifts around your classes

Kitchen work is a solid bet. A lot of restaurants, especially the big ones like Vapiano or some of the brewery beer gardens around Prenzlauer Berg, will take you on as a Spüler or kitchen helper with basic German. You'll hear a lot of Turkish and Polish back there too, so don't worry about being perfect.

Another option people overlook is working for a delivery service like Flink or Gorillas. The work is physically demanding but the shifts are short and you get to practice with customers at the door. Just be prepared for chaos during peak hours.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
