Where in Berlin can I find classic German Army Training Shoes?

The problem is, no matter where I look I can't find them! I currently live in Charlottenburg so if you know a place that sells them nearby, I'd really appreciate if you dropped the location. Thank you in advance!

Another option is the shop at the Bundeswehr's own clothing store on Gardeschützenweg, near the U-Bahn stop at Krumme Lanke. It's a bit of a trek from Charlottenburg, maybe 30 minutes on the U3, but it's the actual military supply outlet so the prices are lower than the tourist shops, usually around 25 euro. They have the standard gray version with the green sole and you can definitely try them on before buying. If you want the exact same ones soldiers get issued, this is where they come from.

there's also a spot called asmc on nürnberger straße near u augsburger straße, they stock the original bundeswehr trainers and usually have a few sizes to try on. it's a bit more of a military surplus vibe than the ku'damm tourist shop, prices are fair too like 30-40 euro. from charlottenburg just take the u1 to augsburger straße and it's a two minute walk

honestly just head to the Bundeswehr shop at Kurfürstendamm 42, it's a bit touristy but they have the real deal in stock. they're called "Bundeswehr Turnschuhe" here if you ask, the classic gray ones with the green sole. if u want the proper vintage ones check out the flea market at Mauerpark on Sundays, there's a guy near the main entrance who always has a box of them for like 15-20 euro. Charlottenburg to Ku'damm is just a quick walk or one stop on the U7, so pretty easy

Best tattoo artist in town?

arrow_drop_up 67 arrow_drop_down

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
