Is the UE University of europe for applied science good in the program of Visual experience and design?

I like the curriculum of this university and it offers flexibility in the language, allowing its courses in English without the need for German in Berlin. I've seen some bad reviews of the university, but has anyone had any good experiences?

the program itself is decent if you know what you're getting into - it's very industry-focused so you'll learn practical stuff but don't expect deep academic theory. tuition is expensive though, like 800-900 euros a month last I checked, which adds up fast for a 2-year master

one thing nobody mentions is that the cohort is super international which is great for networking but also means group projects can be a pain with different time zones and work styles. the teachers are mostly working professionals who teach part-time, so you get real industry insights but sometimes they cancel classes last minute when client work comes up

if you can afford it and value the english-only aspect, it works fine. just go in with realistic expectations about the admin stuff and you won't be disappointed

honestly i know a couple people who went through that program and they had mixed feelings. the curriculum is solid on paper but the teaching quality can be hit or miss depending on the prof you get. one friend said the projects felt too corporate and not enough experimental freedom

if you want to avoid german entirely in berlin for a ux degree, UE is one of the few options that actually delivers on that. just be prepared for some administrative chaos, the student services are notoriously slow and unorganized. also the campus near Warschauer is pretty basic, not much of a uni vibe

for a more grounded ux master, you could check out the berlin university of the arts (UDK) or even the design department at weißensee, but those require german. so if language flexibility is your priority, UE is prob your best bet despite the mixed reviews

imo the bad reviews are mostly about the business side of things not the actual learning. the visual experience and design program has some really solid modules on design thinking and prototyping, especially if you get profs like katja or markus who actually work in berlin's tech scene

the flex with language is real though, you can get through the whole degree without speaking a word of german which is rare for berlin. just know that the tuition feels steep when you compare it to public unis where you'd pay like 300 euros per semester, but those require C1 german

one thing that caught me off guard was how much self-directed work there is. like you're expected to find your own internship and project partners, the uni doesn't hold your hand. if you're good at networking and self-structuring it's fine, but if you need more guidance it might feel lonely

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
