thanks everyone!

EDIT: just to clear, I'm not looking at furniture or big appliances like that. I'm in student housing so I have the basic stuff like bed, fridge...

if you're on a student budget action & takko are ur best bet for kitchen stuff & organizers, way cheaper than ikea. action has those 1-2 euro utensil sets & closet dividers, takko is more textiles but cheap bath mats & hangers. also check kaufland or netto in the non-food aisle, they rotate random home stuff weekly and its dirt cheap. for a one-stop run the POCO at ringcenter is fine but honestly action beats it on price for the small bits

honestly for small stuff like kitchen tools and organizers, hit up Muji at Potsdamer Platz or the Dm at any U-Bahn station. they both have solid basic stuff for cheap, like 3 euro cutting boards and 5 euro storage boxes. also check out Woolworth on Frankfurter Allee, they've got random home accessories for way less than IKEA and no assembly required.

tedi & action are solid picks but nobody mentioned euro shops in neukölln along karl-marx-strasse, tiny turkish-run shops there sell kitchen gadgets & plastic organizers for like a euro each, way undercutting the chains. also the woolworth at schönhauser allee usually has a clearance bin near the back with random home stuff marked down to 50 cents, worth digging through if ur near

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
