Idea kreativ has their own brand, I don't like it. I miss the creative Kaufhaus at Storkower Straße. Anybody knows a place where I can have a bigger collection to look for. I need to see the color, because i don't want to order hoping it fits.

have u tried the Dille store at Hackescher Markt? theyre small but carry Anchor and their display is set up so u can hold the skeins against each other. not the biggest selection but the lighting in there is actually decent for matching colors, unlike most places. also the lady who runs it is super patient if u need to compare a bunch of shades

If you're near Friedrichshain, try Wollplatz on Boxhagener Straße. They stock Anchor and usually keep the full color range on the wall so you can compare shades in person. The owner is a bit no-nonsense but knows her stock well.

honestly, you should check out Karstadt at Hermannplatz, they used to have a decent Anchor selection last time I was there. not huge but way better than what Galeria has now. also, there's a small shop called Stoff & Liebe near Schönhauser Allee that sometimes carries Anchor, though they focus more on fabric. if you're up for a trip, the Müller at Alex has a surprisingly solid thread section, just not always Anchor specifically.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
