Berliners, my name is Olena and I am a scientific co-founder of a longevity start up.

I am L O O K I N G for people interested to measure their biological age with very precise test - DNA methylation 🧬

I will be ordering a saliva test for myself and I am offering to interested people to join me. P E R K S for Y O U - I will be helping with interpretation of your bio age test.

I will be very happy if you participate, it will help me to understand if there is a demand for such biological age testing.

For more details, just drop me a message 🙂

*off note, I hold PhD in Molecular Biology of aging. In my PhD I studied DNA methylation during aging, so you will get access to knowledge about epigenetics and your health that only people deeply working in field have. This knowledge will make you opt for new healthy choices in every day life.

i did the whole dna methylation thing with myblood a couple years back in berlin. honestly the results were interesting but not life changing. the real value is in the follow up interpretation which most people never get. if you're offering that part for free it's actually a solid deal cause the raw data from these tests is kinda useless without context. i'd be down to join if you're still looking for participants

hey Olena, this sounds super interesting. i've been looking into stuff like chronomics but the price tag is wild. where are you based in Berlin? would be cool to know if the test kit pickup is in Mitte or somewhere out in Wedding. also curious how long the turnaround is for the results, like weeks or months?

yeah that follow up interpretation is def the key part. most people just get a number and freak out without knowing what to do with it. i'd be curious to hear how much of the aging clock is actually actionable vs just genetic lottery, based on your phd work.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
