Antique Watch Shopping, where to go?
honestly the best luck i've had under 500 was at the antik- und trödelmarkt on fehrbelliner platz, it's a saturday thing near the u-bahn. smaller crowd than mauerpark so less competition and i've seen a few dealers who specialize in older german watches, think junghans and glashütte stuff from the 60s. also there's a little shop called zeitlos in prenzlauer berg on schönhauser allee that has a window case of vintage pieces, prices are fair and the owner knows his stuff if you ask about the movement
For under 500, check out the shops around Linienstraße in Mitte. There's a spot called Uhren Schmidt that sometimes has interesting vintage pieces in that range, though it's more of a repair shop with a small display case. Also worth a trip to the Flohmarkt am Mauerpark on a Sunday, but get there early before the dealers pick through everything.
yeah check out the antique watch shop near Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain, they have a small selection under 500 sometimes, mostly older swiss stuff. also the flea market at Arkonaplatz on sundays is smaller than Mauerpark but less picked over, found a decent Laco there once
What is the reason for the high number of helicopters flying over central neighborhoods recently?
Could be related to the demonstration near Invalidenstraße earlier, they often deploy police helicopters for that. I've also heard there's a film shoot happening around Potsdamer Platz this week.
