I am organising a bbq day next Sunday, at Volkspark Friedrichshain, I have already booked the spot at the Neuer Hain webpage. But i was wondering if there is any service (anywhere in Berlin) to rent tables and benches for barbecues. Like somewhere where i can rent a couple of tables for a couple of days?

Thanks in advance!

Another option is to hit up one of the bigger Partyverleih places, like Party Rent Berlin or Auerberg, they do proper event furniture with delivery. It'll cost more than a Baumarkt, maybe 15 to 25 euros per table, but they bring it to the park and pick it up, which saves you the hassle of schlepping. For a one-off Sunday, though, I'd also check the Neuer Hain Facebook group, people there often share or lend gear for the day, since it's a community spot. If you're flexible, folding tables from a Späti deposit is the cheapest, but don't count on it unless you know the owner.

You might be overthinking this one. The Volkspark already has fixed grill spots and plenty of benches scattered around, but if you want proper tables for a group, check out a Baumarkt like Bauhaus or Hornbach. They rent out simple picnic tables and trestles for a few euros a day, usually with a deposit, and you can pick them up the day before. The Hornbach in Lichtenberg is closest to Friedrichshain, just grab a car or a big taxi. Otherwise, some Spätis near the park have foldable camping tables they sometimes lend out for a deposit, but that's more of a "know the owner" thing than a formal rental.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
