Vielen Dank

The prioritization question is really about strategy. Since you get only one offer through DoSV, putting Potsdam first is the safer play if your main goal is just to secure a spot in the region. The cutoff there tends to sit a bit lower than at HU or FU, especially for the Wartesemester quota, though the Studieneignungstest can shake things up. If you're confident in your Abi and test score, then go for your actual favorite, because you don't want to end up at your second choice and regret it for three years.

On the teaching side, FU and HU differ more in style than in quality. At HU, the program is tightly structured, very research-oriented, and you'll be in the middle of Mitte, which is great for short breaks but also means constant noise and crowds. FU's psych institute in Dahlem is a bit dated, but the campus atmosphere is calmer and you get a stronger sense of community, plus the nearby Grunewald is nice for decompressing. Potsdam is smaller and more personal, with easier access to professors, and the commute from Berlin is fine if you live near a regional train line.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet: check the specific focus areas. FU has a strong clinical and neuropsychology track, HU leans into cognitive and methodological stuff, and Potsdam has a solid reputation for work and organizational psychology. If you already know you want to go into therapy later, that might

humboldt is the classic one, super central and research heavy, but the campus is a bit scattered and the library gets packed rn. freie uni feels more like a real campus vibe in dahlem, chill but a bit out of the way, and the psych building is older. potsdam is honestly underrated, smaller cohorts and closer to profs, plus the train from berlin hbf is like 30 mins. for prioritization, if u want max chance of getting in anywhere, put potsdam first, it's usually slightly less competitive than the two berlin ones. other state options in berlin? no, just hu and fu for psych, potsdam is the only nearby alternative. if i were u i'd pick based on where u'd rather live, hu if u want city life, fu if u like parks, potsdam if u want a quieter student town. also don't sleep on the studieneignungstest, it can boost u a lot, but the cutoff scores shift every year so nobody can promise u anything.

What is the correct spelling for a street name that appears differently on multiple signs in Charlottenburg?

I noticed that the street name is spelled differently on three separate signs in the Charlottenburg area. Can anyone confirm the correct official spelling and whether this is a known issue? Worth noting that Berlin street names have official umlaut and ß rules that trip people up, so a sign showing "Strasse" versus "Straße" is not actually a spelling error, just an older transcription. Same with "ue" versus "ü" (e.g. "Kantstrasse" vs "Kantstraße"), both are considered valid renderings and you'll see the ß version on the blue Schilder and the ss version on older plaques or in databases that predate Unicode. If the difference you're seeing is between those two forms, there's nothing to fix and both are technically correct.

if the signs u mean are the old enamel ones on the house facades those are often protected as Baudenkmal so nobody's allowed to correct them even if the spelling is outdated. the binding version is whatever is in the Berliner Strassenverzeichnis plus the entry in the Liegenschaftskataster, so if u tell me the street i can point u to the right Bezirksamt Mitte or Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf page. tbh the merged district thing is real but the facade signs are a separate story, theyre basically museum pieces at this point

honestly thats super common in Charlottenburg, the district offices were merged from older Bezirke and nobody ever fixed all the Schilder. if its a real street you can check the official strassenverzeichnis on berlin.de, that list is what the Burgeramt actually goes by. which street is it? some of the Kaiserdamm / Kantstrasse signs are notorious for this.
