Wanna play in a casual post/pop/punk band?

Hej folks!

I'm looking for like-minded people to have fun in the studio and play live now and then :-)

The style itself we can define as we go, but I'm a big fan of anything around punk.

I play the guitar, bass, keys and sing a bit. I have played in bands before, have my lil solo project where I produce and record all my songs.

This is more of a hobby thing, so let's not take ourselves too seriously, but at the same time, we kinda have to make time for the thing.

Is this up your alley? Shoot me a message!

hej! check out the punk scene around schokoladen in mitte or the occasional show at koma f in neukölln. there's plenty of folks there who'd be into this vibe. also, if u need a cheap rehearsal space, hit up übungsraum miete in wedding, they're like 10€ an hour and super chill. good luck finding ur people

You might want to check out the open mic nights at Urban Spree in Friedrichshain. They get a mix of DIY punk types and people who are just messing around with gear, so you could find someone who clicks. Also, the rehearsal rooms at Monster Ronson's in Kreuzberg are decent if you want a spot that's not too sterile.

if you're on the hunt for a bassist or drummer, try posting on the berlin music scene facebook group or the "musicians in berlin" board at silver future in friedrichshain. plenty of hobbyists there who get the "let's keep it fun but actually show up" balance. also, the punk gigs at cassiopeia in friedrichshain draw a good mix of people who might vibe with your project

Best tattoo artist in town?

i'd say skip the big names and look at studiowest in prenzlauer berg, they do amazing japanese style but the waitlist is like 6 months. if u want something quicker, the artists at bitterlich tattoo in mitte are super underrated, especially for fine line. and honestly, walk past the instagram hype, go to a shop in person and ask to see their portfolio book, that's where the real stuff is.

The Berlin tattoo scene is pretty spread out, so it depends on what style you're after. For fine line and minimalist work, I'd look at A Fine Line in Kreuzberg, they're booked out weeks in advance for a reason. If you want bold traditional, check out Die Wilde Ecke in Neukölln, they've been around forever and the artists there are solid. Honestly, your best bet is to scroll through Instagram and find someone whose healed work you like, not just the fresh photos, because that's where the real skill shows.

One thing nobody's mentioned yet is the tattoo convention at Arena Berlin, usually in early summer. It's a good way to see a bunch of styles in one afternoon and talk to artists face to face without committing to a shop. I found my guy there three years ago, he works out of a tiny studio near Boxhagener Platz and does amazing neo-traditional, but he rarely posts on Instagram so you'd never discover him otherwise. Bring cash if you go, a lot of the booths only take that on the day.
